It is coming out of it. It fires on all four more often then not and almost always under a load now. I put all new distributer innards in her this morning. I am going to start looking closer at the carb now. I found that the previous owner drilled holes in the bottom of his exhaust manifold; I suppose to keep water from backing into the cylinders. The exhaust gasses out the holes flows right past the carb (I have plugged them). I'm wondering if it may have gotten hot enough to warp that alluminum. I took the carb apart and cleaned it good and put a kit in it but.. It has signs of being hot.

In a nutsshell "THANKS GUYS!!!!" It is running much better.

Well since ya have already addressed the dist then now take it out and work the dog shut out of it , my thinking is that that one hole being low on comp. is the main problem as if there is more then 10% you can have a nasty miss that will drive you bing bong.

Yep what the other guys says and I would also check for a manifold leak, never know when some one does what the guy did what else he might have messed up and put a small hole in the intake also which could cause all sorts of funny problems and be hard to find

Great! If it seems to get worse again (I do not know if you changed the bushings in the distributor) try this: The IDEA worn shaft bushings allow point s to dist cam timing changes. Getting the points set exactly can make it run much better but it disguises the problem. If you can move the shaft at all (not in and out, but radially in any direction) it needs to be rebushed.
