I have what many are calling a Super A High Row. It might be a pre-1954 model. Where do I find the serial number. It runs very well and I am thinking of restoring it. Is this tractor difficult to find parts for? Any information would really be appreciated.

Unless it was modified by someone what you have is a Super AV. When the 100 came out IH called them "High Clearance"

On a plate next to the tractor seat is the number AV 68114 there are other numbers on the engine block, on the shift plate cover and on the transmission block. 0638-DA, 6342- DA and 6832-DA Thanks for the help, I would like to identify the model and year.

The prefix should be FAAV, it's possible that the first two letters are worn off. Super AV's have 6 digit serials, thus that one is simply an AV, not a Super AV. The supers have touch control hydraulics, two levers by the throttle, a reservoir under the gas tank, and a hydraulic pump in front of the distributer. Your tractor was built in 1941, Super's came out in 1948. If your tractor has the items mentioned, the first digit is worn off.

Thanks. Mine does not have any hydralics and I am sure the SV is not missing. I will assume it is a 100 series IH of the A model built in 1941. The fact that the rear tires is over 5' in height adds credence to the fact it probably is what is refered to as a High Clearance model. Do you have any idea of its value?

I should have said that the 100 came out after the Super A1 in late 1954, so it is not a 100 series. It is simply a Farmall AV, the original high clearance IH built of that size. there were 3603 made compared to about 117000 A's. Value depends on condition. Since it is an AV and not an A, maybe up to $2000 if it is in good condition, perhaps $3500 restored. Those are strictly guesses as prices vary all over the map.

S/N should be on the left side of the clutch or transmission housing. Hal
