I'm trying to find out what it is worth, it's in fair condition. Ser # 7954 S-Y. Does that tell what year it is? Does that make a difference in it's value?

While the seasoned experts could probably tell from the serial number, is it a gas or a diesel?

Diesel will be worth more than gas, for obvious reasons, but even the diesels are a bit of a dog on the market because of the bipolar reaction to the D310 German diesel that normally comes in this tractor... People either love 'em or hate 'em, and unfortunately, they're super-expensive to rebuild as I understand it.

Gasser will be worth no more than $3500 in any condition... Diesel might be worth $5000 if it's in excellent condition. IMHO, and ready to be proven wrong.

These tractors are too new to be collector's items, and given that they're HEAVY, they probably won't ever be very big on the collector's market. They're still in daily use on farms all over the country. Still good workin' tractors.

You had better attend more sales and set your sights a bit higher as a gasser 756 narrow ft fast hitch witch is concidered a DOG by most jockys will still bring over the 3500 mark at the big sales and a wide ft. diesel with decent rubber three point with dual hyd . it would be tough to get one at a dealers sale for under 4750 unless it is a rag with a bad T/A and skins for rubber and a weak engine to the parts buyer he is looking at a bunch of money in pices and parts and would give that . So a good 756 deisel wide ft three point with dual remotes good rubber better think in the neighbor hood of 55-6500 . And if i had one to sell i would be looken for 6500-7900 depending on what it looked like and ran like .

According to the serial number lists at left, it was assembled in 1967, the 453rd one built.

Although it is a highly desirable, rare early serial number, serial numbers hardly affect price. Condition is the issue for value. There are no model years for Farmalls, just the year it was assembled. It's kind of like drill presses. One model may be made for several years, with a few changes at various serial numbers, but no changes were made to introduce a new year model. That is an automotive invention to sell more cars and trucks to people who just must have the latest.
