Anyone seen this gauge before? Everyone I have seen was black. This one is light blue and says "Stewert Warner" on the bottom.

And yes, I will be replacing the key system for an original starter button.

The box is the stock component. The SW gauge looks to be 60s vintage, as Ron says, It may be worth reselling. My mothermade SW gauges During WW2 in Chicago. They are fine quality. The toggle bolt (wing like thing to the right of the gauge) should be a slotted round head machine bolt. with the head in this end, and the nut on the back side. The welded on bracket with the key switch mounted in it is stock. It has the Starter push button (full starter amp heavy switch) located in it. Good Luck, JimN

Jim, you said "It has the Starter push button (full starter amp heavy switch) located in it."

What do you mean by "located in it"? Do you mean I just need to remove the key and replace it with the button?

Don't completely discard the key switch. Put is up under the hood out of sight on the grounding wire as a safety item. That way you can prevent the tractor from being accidently started. This is important to keep kids from accidently starting it and hurting someone. Some tractor clubs/shows require it. It is not original but may save someone's life.

Wow- are we the only ones awake tonight????

That's an aftermarket guage. You can order an original(or accurate reproduction of an original) through lots of different old tractor catalogs(which I'm sure you'll be getting) like OEM Tractor Parts and probably even off this website(hint- even if you order stuff off the web, get the printed catalogs too... they make great reading material for the throne).

Don't throw that Stewart Warner away though. Looks kinda old and I'd bet alot of the hotrod guys would bid on it if you put it on ebay as a "vintage hotrod amp guage"....

That push-pull switch just under the guage is aftermarket too- the original IH light switches were roundish and you turned them instead of the push/pull type....they'll be in the catalogs too.
