Mike in Ca's recent conversations really have me wondering.
I am sure there are regional adjustments....but if I were to sell the factory wide front off my tractor (zero welds, nice and straight) how much is it worth on the average?

I just helped my son haul home a 1965 GTO. Complete but the guy who had it had let his son take it to the local Vo Tech. They pretty much took it apart before tireing. It's all there but we figure $15,000 to $20,000 to fix it right. He paid $1,500 for it. Glad it's my son's project. He just hired on as a National Accounts mgr. for John Deere, hope he can afford it.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback.

Mike, I think I'll keep my widefront on the tractor if it is only worth $500-600 bucks.
Now if it was worth $1200 I might think differently.

I really like the narrow fronts for most work on my property, but the wide front is nice on muddy ground and in the snow. The narrows kind of get clogged up. You probably won't have that problem in CA.

Brian,

Guess it is like Andy says, it is what the market will bear.

For instance, I just gave $500 for a front end for my Hydro 70.

Only part that was good was the cast center tube. One hub was missing (although the seller did give me a replacement), both knees were shot, bad tie rods and it needed a bushing kit in the pivot.

Looked for months before I found this tired old dude, but still was really happy to make the deal.

It is really worth what you can get a buyer to pay for it.

A fanatic trying to put together his dream tractor who can't stand the idea of a weld gound smooth under the paint will give you $1,500.

If you're in a hurry you might wnat to settle for $400.

It's about the same with a 1966 Mustang.

You can keep the Mustang. I'll have the Camaro.
