I was wondering what they used on a SH for the oilbath? The H I switched over to the M carb What do I use to hook the oil bath to the carb. Was the whole oil bath M size or did they just use a coupler? JON

SH pipe is 2 inch OD at top and 2 1/4 OD at bottom end. M is the same unless its a pretty late one then its like a SM. You can make the common M one work by making it shorter.Your H has a 1 3/4 OD pipe on air cleaner. Wrap with duct tap to bring up to 2 inch or if your air cleaner has a thin hose cut it off at end of pipe and slide other hose over it. If you have to make M pipe shorter at carb end don't go to far as you will go back past the swelled part. A half inch is usualy enough on that end. Reason I pointed this out is because M pipes are easy to find compared to SH.

Magman, to do it right you will need the complete oil bath assembly with the tube from a super H. The assembly from an M will be too big to fit in the stock location. I suppose maybe the unit from a 300 or 350 might also work. Another trick that has been used quite a bit is to take the small diameter pipe that you have and go visit a muffler shop, have them make you a new pipe in the size you need, and also get a separate short piece of the same size. The short piece that is on the air cleaner now is soldered in, remove it, enlarge the hole, and solder or weld the new larger short piece into place. You are good to go.

Hey Loren, The only problem is I dont have the pipe or anything now it must have gotten lost. Would it restrick my flow to much if I used the stock H pipe and went to lowes and got a neoprene fitting to go from the small pipe to the larger carb? JON

Magman, you could probably do that, I'm sure it would restrict the airflow, don't know if it would be that great or not. Another trick I have seen is to find a universal flexible radiator hose. You should be able to find one that is big one one end and small on the other, but it might still be restrictive, and it wouldn't appear stock. I've also seen K&N type filters that mounted directly to the carb, but that definately does not appear stock.

The tube from the Air cleaner should look to be the same OD as the carb inlet. A 2.5" long piece of oil resistant neoprene reinforced hose, and two clamps were stock. There is a difference in size of tube(I'm not sure how much), make the change by using a SH aircleaner, and the M elbow tube from the upper outlet from the body of the oilbath. Just to keep it looking stockish. JimN
