I need a steering worm unit for my narrow front 560, I also need the steering shaft assembly that goes from the steering box back to the first u-joint toward the steering wheel. If some one has any idea where I should look within a 4 hr drive of Portland would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Here's a web site for tractor salvage yards. Some may be your area and have some good used parts. Hal

Steve I think Meridian Equipment in Bellingham Wa has a couple narrow front 560's out in the salvage yard and the steering boxes and shafts are on them I believe. Call Dave at 360 398 2141 tell em migraine sent ya and they might cut you a deal. Did ya get a little wild down at Banks last weekend or what? Later Migraine

Thanks for the lead Migraine.
I was getting in line to pull on Sunday I decided I was going to pull with the Modifieds so I wouldn't be alone in the class. Anyway there is a 12" or so berm between the race track and the infield pulling track and I was heading across it at a fairly shallow angle, but my front wheel caught the berm and jerked the front wheel hard to the left and broke the worm gear. The worm gear had been cracked/partially broken for a while judging from the sufrace of the break. It had also been welded once before and broke trough the weld too. Fred Pfister from Hillsboro did one worse, he just got a SS Case /IH from back east and blew the head off on Saturday night. Also saw the Oregon debut of a Shepard with a turboed 4-71 in it that looks like its going to be impressive. It might have come out of E Washington somewhere. Dorlin Drader from down here put in a pretty good run with his AC190 as well. It's probably good I broke I would have been crushed. I heard good things about the Lynden pull the night before, its to bad that the timing of the two pulls is like that, it would be nice to be able to more easily do both pulls. I finally have a vehicle that I could see towing a tractor 200+ miles with. Steve Kenitz

If any one else out there is looking for a 210 HP turboed 4-71, drop me a line. The Detroit is nearly new with 80 hours total lifetime.
