Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for a super A? Also, how do I tighten the steering gear ? There's a lot of play in my steering that seems to be between the steering shaft and the tie rod. Do I just tighten something, or will I need to rplace a gear or bushing ?

wcroom: I will touch on the steering as I think you have what you need on wiring. Most of the loose steering in a Super A happens in the vertical shaft within the steering box. The half moon gear inside the box becomes loose on the shaft, and below the box the steering control arm gets loose on the shaft.

The early Super A used a square tapered shaft. I'Ve not had any experience with those but understand they can be tightened using shim stock. The later model used a round tapered shaft with woodruff keys. Usually new keys will fix those but sometimes the keyways need repair. That vertical shaft problem can give almost two complete turns of the steering wheel. You have to remove the front axle to get to the vertical shaft. The change over on that shaft occured in mid 1951.

Very rarely the steering wheel shaft will give problems in it's bearings. If you have end movement on that shaft, it will need attention. If there is no end movement I wouldn't take it apart.
