hello everyone.
i have a 706d that had a new motor put in befroe i got it. The people that changed the motor hacked everything. i totally rewired the tractor, and got the tach working. my fuel guage works, but the capilary tube for the temp guage was cut. has anyone ever replaced the tubing and filled it back up with gas. i have about 6 inched of tube on either end to work with. im tyhinking of flaring it and puting in a flexible steel cable with a fill port like on an ac line. just a thought. i hate to blow a ton of money on a complete new guage, but i sure like the original look. thanks
nate

Sounds pretty creative to me. Don't know why it wouldn't work but why go to all that to save $25 gauge? Isn't your time worth anything?

Howard,

Guess "creative" isn't the word I would have chosen but it'll do. :>)

BTW, those gauge clusters run in at around $225 to $300 depending if you're lucky enough to locate one.

Looks are ok, but I would go with an electrical unit so it doesnt happen again and it is an easy change-out if it fails.
