There is really nothing on the market at this time to convert a mag to electronic. If some really new there electronics and could figure out the lag and stuff you may be able to make one. But I would not becuase a good working mag can be ten times hotter than a dist. And I dont care what all these people say here but I have never had a dist burn me so bad could not use my left arm for two days and hurt like heck on test. Unless it is one of the new high energy ign on the newer vehicles they can kill you. JON

Is there any way to take some advance out of a mag? I can"t get mine under 35 degrees advance on my B and I have way to much compression for that kind of advance. I tried to rotate the mag to retard the timing and with out some grinding it won"t go back anymore than 35.
Thanks Shaggy

I agree, save the mag, been using the same one since 1942, have replaced the coil and points , coil only once.

What's wrong with the Mag????? ?? :-/

A properly working magneto is a WONDERFUL thing! No battery!

I don't know about the mags on these tractors but I run my T's primarily on their magnetos and they purr like fiesty little kittens and never miss a lick.

You might want to rebuild it and hae the magnets recharged and coils rewrapped with more insulation. if you fix it up and maintain it, it will last indefinitley.
