OEM Tractor Parts for the gauges and lights, possibly the harness, there are many other vendors, also. The decals should say McCormick Deering Farmall, the IH was not used until 1945, I believe. Your gauges will have IH surrounded by the C. As to paint, you can pay anywhere from $20 to $300 a gallon. 2150 as recommended below is not the correct color for 1940, if that matters, it did not appear until the 404 and 504 began production in 1961. The "correct" color is IH 50, it has to be mixed. The PPG number is 70019, DuPont 7410, it can be crossed to Sherwin Williams/Martin Senour/NAPA, etc. But, I really doubt if it is possible to duplicate the original color. The companies will vary in the shade. In other words PPG and DuPont will have different shades for IH 50, neither one of which is correct. So, do as you wish. You are probably just as well of with 2150 from your CIH dealer, but be warned that it will have an orange tint -- some people don't like that. I have heard that the color varies from batch to batch but I have never used any. I would not recommend paints sold by tractor stores, ie TSC and Van Sickle. It is the same alkyd enamel that came on your tractor, is low quality and will fade. But, if you keep it inside and keep it waxed it is probably ok. The 2150 from CIH is a member of the same family of paints, but has UV inhibitors added to retard fading.
