How do I remove the bull gears and lower axle shaft from the final drives of my 1950 Cub? I have removed the housings, but the lower axle shaft will not slide out after removing the covers. Are the axles pressed or what?

I purchased a 20T from Harbor Freight still on sale in today's store flyer for 179.00. In my opinion it took most of the 20T.

Yes, the axle must be pressed out of the housing.

Thanks for the help Big Dog. Is this something that I can do with a small press or puller? Or do you recommend taking the housing to a machine shop?

What parts are actually press fit? Is it just the bearings?

Thanks again....

The bearing cones are press fit to the axle shaft. If you have a press you can easily do it yourself.
