My friend had bought a 1066 a few months ago and didn't really use it till last week. It has a TA and it seems to work ok except when you are in like 4th high and go to slow down. It acts like it goes into neutral and coasts. If you are stopped and put it in high 2nd and run it up a bit, while holding the brakes it does not slip on either the high side or the low side. It will kill the tractor out. So I figure the TA is fine But also at a lower rpm the brakes and steering, they are both sluggesh. I told him to change the hyd filter and he did. Made no difference. Is the hyd pump bad or what else should I tell him to try. Thanks for all input in advance

Well the first thing i would do but now this is me would be put the gauges to it and check MCV pressure to see if i had low pressure because of weak springs , stuck flow divider, sticking pressure reg, blowen MCV gskt or O/Ring or if it was a weak pump . But now i have all the stuff to do this type of testing . Now ya may be money ahead and let a dealer do the testing and then go from there . NOw the low pressure may also be due to a problem inside the T/A and may require a total tear down and replacement . This is the best i can do for ya on here with out doing the testing myself . Sorry i can't do some majic and wave my wand and give three hail marys and make all better.

I do have a high presure gauge to test with but what is the presure suppose to be and where do I take it from. I have usually taken it from the clutch assist outlet. Is this right. Thanks in advance tractor vet.

I'm not familiar with the 1066. I assume 4H is road gear. I don't think you are supposed to use the TA to slow down from high speeds.

no no I mean't that when you shut the throttle down it coasts. I know you never use the TA to slow down.
