working on 52 cub motor, it has one valve stuck open and no amount of tapping-p b blaster or other lubricants seem to help. any ideas? also need to know torque standards and pattern for head and rod bearrings. thanks RP

Have you tried to tap it back down and then turn the engine over to reopen it and then tap it down again. If you haven't then no amount of oil is going to help you. What happens is rust and other junk get in the valve guide area and then you need to open and close the valve a number of times and keep putting oil on it to clena the area out. What I always use is tranny fluid since it seems to both lube and clean at the same time. By the way BTDT with a good number of sticking valves

If you can get the spring off, do so. Then heat both ends, top & bottom & let it cool. The heat will usually break it loose.
