i would like info on the international down draft air intake system used on the f-12. was it better han the other method,how many f-12's of 123,442 made had it. also how rare is the single front wheel. thanks. allen in klamath falls, or.

The single front wheel was standard eq till sometime in 1935 or 36. The # of tractors built each year increased after that. I would guess somewhere around 1/4 to 1/3 would have had single wheels.

In my area ( ohio)I think 8 out of 10 have single front wheel. I have 2 extrra single fronts.

So far as I know, ALL F12's and F14's (except possibly the very early Waukeshaw engined units) had downdraft carbs. Can't say as to whether it was "better" than the updraft system, but mine works just dandy now that I have my float issues resolved.

Can't help ya on the numbers for single front wheels. Less common than tricycles, more common than wide fronts would be my guess, but that's all it is, is a guess.
