hey i'm just a 15 year old kid but i has havign an argument with a fiend on how fast a farmall tractor would go she she seems to think her pepes tractor will do 80 and i doupted it quiet a bit and i was just wondering if one of u guys could let me know how fast one of them could actualy go. please email me with a respince please because i have no idea how to use this site so i will never find my post in order to see what the answer is thanx the email adress is treky67@hotmail.com thanx

Inn order for an unmodified tractor to do 80 mph, you would need to be going down a he!! of a long hill . . .

hey thanx i will show her:P but yeh i definately didn't think 80 and its not a racing tractor i believe its just a normal tractor. btu thanx for the information it was greatly apreciated.

Farmalls letter and number series will go 16 to 18 miles an hour. If someone modifies them they can be made to go much faster than would be reasonable. Some racing tractors routinely have rear tire surface speeds in excess of 100 mph. But they may be going 8mph, or near stopped at that point.
Other brands (somre Oliver units, and others maybe) were faster in road gear, but not by much. Speeds over twenty MPH are not safe for reasons of high center of gravity, and poor cornering ballance. In addition the brakes were often not perfectly in sync, and would pull the unit sideways in a panic stop. JimN
