Winter is coming and it's time to clean out the pickup. But what to take out? I need this stuff. Reading the post in Tractor talk about towing wagons made me think of how many hunderd pounds of "junk" we haul around for ballast.

Oh boy...gotta think about that one.

Let's see here...chainsaw, two-cycle fuel, bar oil, grill off a Farmall H, a couple of empty Pabst cans, my hockey equipment, and probably 10 pairs of yellow chore gloves (all probably right handed since I can never seem to find a left).

:)

Mine has a broom and sixty or seventy dead oak leaves. Momma drove home from town pretty fast or there'd be more leaves.

100' roll of 1/2" hardware cloth, compressor, tool box, jumper cables, tow chains, first aid box, jack, 8 bags of pea gravel. As long as momma can still fit the groceries in, it'll probably stay pretty much that way.

I'm going to answer in here because you all might think it's pretty funny. First, I don't own a pick-up. I drive a sport sedan. It's actually pretty clean inside. I have a CD holder, and I still have my Triathlon wetsuit in there for the swim speed test I had to do earlier in the week. My running shoes, some gum, and a charging cord for my cell phone.

Very suburban of me, I know.

Ok Which one????? The 2001 F-350 crewcab, I try to keep the bed fairly clean in it. All the tools etc. in the tool box.. Just shovels and a couple of bovine attitude adjusters that won't fit in the box. The '91 Mitsubishi mighty max that I drive to the 9 to 5 . just got a used plastic cross bed box for it , so it is just starting to develope its standard supplies.. Where I work you could not leave anything in the bed unless you didnot want it any more.. The 79 F350 standard cab is the ranch work truck.. It has it all. tools, fence posts, electric and barbed wire, chains, and accumulation of barley pop cans , and miles of bale twine... Think I'll run it through the car wash once... You the one with the big rotating brush that drops into the box... that aught to get it all cleaned out for winter, and hauling hay.. : ) Tallperson

I currently have a piece of steel that is 1/4 thick by 18" by 8 feet. Bought it to make a snowplow for the C. Paid $50. Did I get "taken" or was that a fair price? Otherwise I had just cleaned it out. Some fencing stuff has crawled back in when I turned my back.

SDE, I bought a 4' x 5' piece of expanded metal for a trailer ramp not long ago - 90.00. They said the supplier would only guarante prices for 3 days, it changed so much - usually up.

Well since my truck has a flat bed, (1980 Chev heavy half that is not stock by any means) I have a tool box on the side with chains, boomers, 3/4 drive scocket set, spare tractor parts, winch, come-a-longs, spare tires, extra 40 gallion gas tank empty by the way, cost to much to fill. Air tank 40 gallion hooked to the compressor thats under the hood, used it today to change tires on a baler we hauled in. Bed also has a swing boom with hand winch and hyd jack to lift in 2 ways. Also a lot of other junk.

There's nothing in mine - matter of fact, there's no body on it - The spring mounts rusted off the F350, so to make it easier, I pulled the four u bolts & took the flatbed off. Glad I did, the rear tank was ready to fall out, rust - Man what a mess. I've been chipping & grinding for 2 days, going to use some of that magic rust sealer - POR 15 it's called. Either that or it'll be the junkyard soon. 1994, 70,000 miles - good salt they use here.

Mine has a .243 rifle, 2 clips, box of shells, binocs., sunglasses, phone book, mitts, blanket and toque. That's the cab taken care of. The box has sledge hammer, 2 empty 5 gal pails, a really good tow chain, a spare ball hitch (3 way), a wheelchair and a widow maker/Jackall jack.
