I bid over the phone on a F20 for parts for my Grandpa's which I will be bringing to Illinois from Nebraska in the VERY near future. I don't really need anything much, I have always kept the engine free whenever I go back, the rears even took air. Anyhow, the parts tractor, not complete, just west of Quincy, IL brought 325.00

The tractor next in line to your item #9 was an identical SMTAD (condition as well) with a 3pth. The first tractor bought $18,500 and the second around $9000.

These were actual prices,I heard a lot of these tractors run and some didnt run all that good,and the tractors weren't even started before the bidding of each tractor

Don't you think it makes a difference if the SMTA is diesel and a high crop. I had a $40,000 pre-bid estimate on that tractor. Ask CNKS.

It might have gotten a few more thousand if the paint on the gas tank didn't have a curtain.

I can assure you that the former owner is not smiling. A divorce caused the liquidation. It is quite likely that he could have kept his collection if he hadn't owned such collectable iron. He could have had an appraisal done and settled with the ex.

I think one thing is certain. He will never remarry.

No, it took me seven hours to get to the auction. I do not know Lane Freeman or his ex (?) wife. My info is purely scuttlebut gleaned from several people who were local. Most of the conversation occurred at the end of the auction while in line to pay our bills. Everything including the real estate will be sold.

The auction was big. Two rings were going for the last two/three hours. I estimate the proceeds from the sale at over $1,000,000. The paper and memorobilia went on for two hours and probably brought more than $125,000.

Lane had absolutely no control over his hobby. We have all been to auctions where several bidder numbers win a huge preponderance of the items. Lane must have been one of those guys in days gone by.

The auctioneer had to explain why Lane had 40+ new IH fuel pressure guages. Apparently, his local dealer said there were 40+ guages in the system and Lane bought them all, instead of only the one that he needed. He also had a fondness for fuel tank guages. There were probably 50 of those in various condition. I suspect most of those items are currently listed on eBay. Ninety-five percent of the 300 implements were Fast Hitch. I doubt if he ever lost a bid on any of those items.

Of course, I could be wrong about the ex-wife. Maybe his shrink persuaded him to sell as a condition for continued therapy.
