In a major bind..Going to rain-gotta get the tractor out of the woods. No tractor parts stores open today. Are points similar to some others that I might find at an auto parts store today???
Are same points common to some other engine?

Tom, I agree with Bob, unless the points are so bad theres no contact material or surfaces left at all, a point file (but start with non abrasie clean/buff/polish like Bob said) ought to get her out of the woods IFFFFF thats the problem. Make sure theres hot voltage getting to the coils input (NOT to distributor) terminal when the ignitions ON (bad wire or switch etc if not) and if not try to hot wire the coil to get her home then fix the problem. A bunch of those Delco distributors on several different tractors including older chevys used the same points, so you may luck out at an Auto Zone or Advanced Auto or Pep Boys, a shorted condensor or its wiring can kill the spark also you know.

I get my points all the time from an O'reillys auto parts store and most of the time they have them on hand. But as the others have said most of the time you can clean them up well enough to get by for a long time. I almost never buy new points when I get an old tractor in to fix up till I have it up and running on the old points. Emery cloth and some clean cardboard work very well to clean the old points. Even a dollar bill works well the clean them

If it has a Prestolite distributor, you MIGHT get lucky at an auto supply.

If it has the IH distributor, those points are pretty odd, an, unless there's an auto supply that carries some farm and industrial stuff, likely they won't have them.

Have you tried, with the points closed, drawing a clean piece of white cardstock through them several times, to polish off the oxide, then turned the engine over so the points are "open", and finishing the job with spray electrical contact cleaner?

Unless they are BADLY burned, that should get it going, and out of the woods!

Had forgotten myself but it is wet stuff that falls out of the sky and it is doing it here this morning. I have never seen it so dry.
