I just bought a 51 h with lambert disc brakes, of course the brake discs are worn down, does anyone know of a source to get new brake discs. Has anyone had any luck getting them relined. thanks, brian

5 years ago when I did the Lambert brakes on my MD, they were still available from the IH dealer, but very expensive. I took the old disks to the local clutch brake relining shop here and they fixed them right up for me and they work fine. Cost less than half of getting new ones.

If you take the actuator apart, assemble that on the bench. Best to take the actuator apart and check the balls and ball tracks to make sure they are clean with no pits, corrosion. Smooth ramps and balls are essential for these brakes to work good. after the actuator is all together, assemble the disk, actuator and second disk onto the splined shaft. Then put on the cover and hook up and adjust the linkages. Check the splines to make sure they are smooth and the disks move freely on them. I hope all this is correct. It's been 5 years since I did it and this is what I recall.
