I am working on a 38 F-20. I need to replace the center and rear cam bearings. I have all the components out of the block and the bell housing off. What is the procedure for removing the old bearings and installing the new bearings? Do the new bearings need to be reamed, if so how is this accomplished? Would this task best be left to a machine shop? Thanks

The old screws don't like to come out at times. You may need to chip away paint and use your favorite oil. I've had to use a little heat in the past. Just be sure to use a socket that is about the same diameter as the bearing to knock them out and the new ones back in.

there are screws on the outside of the block that hold the bearings in.
