Thanks for the ansewers about the power steering on my 300 "U". I think I"ve got it figured out. Is there a hydrulic,or transmission filter or screen to service? This tractor has sat a long time. Are any reprint factory service manuals avalable? I have a I&T Manual but would like a more specific one. Thanks All!

I have two 300U and changed the hydro screen in both. It is located under the seat. The drain is on the left side near front bottom.

Its a two man or one man and a hoist to lift the top half of the resevoir.

The screen is about the size of a paper towel cardboard wrapper. Be VERY careful when lowering the top back on as its easy to crush the screen and they cost between $65-100 if you can find one.

Clean the resevoir good while in there and you might put new o-rings in the valves.

I was luck enough to get an original parts manual and the original operators manual with one of them.

The screen number is 364687R91.

I would scan the parts pictorial for you but my scanner isnt working at the time.

The last parts book I bought at Case/IH dealer for a Case 1030 was $26 they might be more now but it is available and is what you need.

If your screen is good and solid just clean it and reuse. Unless you can find one easy and reasonable.
