Hi Mike, You mentioned in one of your early posting's that you didn't have a workbench. Here's a plan that I found that looks similar to my work bench I made 40 years ago. I used heavier lumber than the bench shown. I took the dimensions from my bench. I have 2 vices and a grinder bolted to the bench, very handy when you need them. This is the lumber list that I used. Hal A. 4X4X36" legs 36"long 4ea. B. 2X6X331/4" 2ea. C. 2X6X721/4" 2ea. D. 2X4X691/4" 2ea. Note: I installed a shelf 15" above the floor using these 2x4's nailed to inside of the 4X4 legs. Used 1/2 plywood for the shelf. Cut to size E. I didn't use E on my bench. F. Top 3/4" plywood 36"wX721/4" long. Assembly: a. Nail (B) across the 2 (A)'s flush w/top. Do the same w/the other (B) and (A)'s. b. Nail (C) to (A) front and back. c. Install (D) inside the legs (A) lengthwise 15" above the floor. It's handy for storing. d. Install 3/4" plywood on top. I only used small galvanized nails on the top since it will become worn with use. Then I removed it and flipped it over with the unused side up. You can get new wood scraps at Home Depot. I would buy good lumber. I think my legs are maple, but you could use fir or something similar. I have even set engines on my bench.
