The previous owner told me the wheels were off a combine, and the hubs had been specially modified to fit the '46 H.

Now I see this, and these wheels look EXACTLY like the ones on my H.

What does this mean? Well, maybe I can find a broader market to buy the wheels/tires than just the Farmall H community. Who knows.

Hi Mike, You mentioned in one of your early posting's that you didn't have a workbench. Here's a plan that I found that looks similar to my work bench I made 40 years ago. I used heavier
lumber than the bench shown. I took the dimensions from my bench. I have 2 vices and a
grinder bolted to the bench, very handy when you need them. This is the lumber list that I used. Hal

A. 4X4X36" legs 36"long 4ea.
B. 2X6X331/4" 2ea.
C. 2X6X721/4" 2ea.
D. 2X4X691/4" 2ea. Note: I installed a shelf 15" above the floor using these 2x4's nailed to inside of the 4X4 legs. Used 1/2 plywood for the shelf. Cut to size
E. I didn't use E on my bench. F. Top 3/4" plywood 36"wX721/4" long.

Assembly: a. Nail (B) across the 2 (A)'s flush w/top. Do the same w/the other (B) and (A)'s.

b. Nail (C) to (A) front and back.

c. Install (D) inside the legs (A) lengthwise
15" above the floor. It's handy for storing.

d. Install 3/4" plywood on top. I only used
small galvanized nails on the top since it will become worn with use. Then I removed it and flipped it over with the unused side up.

You can get new wood scraps at Home Depot. I would buy good lumber. I think my legs are maple,
but you could use fir or something similar. I have even set engines on my bench.

JON, I've been moving into my house. Money has been flying out of me faster than it's coming in, so my tractor hasn't been at the forefront of my priorities lately. I'm actually really starting to worry about my ability to finance the project, but I'm crossing my fingers and not giving up hope.

Feel free to e-mail me at tractor@ghostskies.com

Check his feedback before bidding. I'd be a bit leery.

Mike: Those rear wheels on the 240 in photo are not factory equipment for that, or any other IH tractor. They are all two piece, rim and hub. My guess is the 240 has a combine wheel as well.

Hugh, One of my 300U has two piece rim 28" and the other has one piece rim 26".

Dont know what that means but its the way it is.
