What is the difference between a B and a B culti-vision? And just for kicks what is different about a BN?
Thanks for the insight, Travis

The "culti-vision" trade name was used from the introduction of the Farmall A. After a while they added the word to the model decal on the tractors and continued to do so until (or if) they changed to the white background decal on the Super A. I don't know the dates or serial numbers for those changes. You can get approximate dates from Guy Fay's Letter Series book.

Maybe repeating what was already said, but:

Culti-Vision is not an option. It's the marketing term IH used to describe the offset operator's platform. ALL As, Super As, Bs, BNs, and Cubs are "Culti-Vision" tractors because of the offset platform.

The axle housings on a B measure 22 inches in length, a BN measures 18 inches.
Thus, the difference in width is 8 inches.
If you have a BN, it will have BN on the serial tag.
The B and B cultivision are in all aspects the same tractor with the exception of decals. Cultivision decals were only used on certain years, sorry can't remember what years.

The BN is something like 18 inches narrower then the B. From what I understand the differance in the other 2 where the decals and tags on them other then that they are the same tractor. I think it was a way for them to sell more Bs

Next question would be, which B is more attractive? I am fixing one up to sell and would like to have the right decals. Would the sn# tell me which one since ultimatly I need to stay true to what it is.

First off, the difference is 8 inches, not 18.

As to which is more attractive, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There were about 75,000 B/BN's made and about 15,000 of them were BN's. B's came out in '39, BN's came out in '41 when IH discovered that the rear wheel spacing on the B didn't suit some farming operations.

I have a B and like it. We had a BN on the farm when I was a kid and I liked it too. Some folks like a BN better because it is easier to fit on a trailer. My B needs a full 7 foot wide trailer where a BN will fit on a standard 75 inch wide between-the-fenders car trailer.

It's all in what you like.

Thats I can't help you with. Only reason I even know what I do about them is I read a lot of what is posted here and then remember what I have read.
