I had the MTA on the picker yesterday and the oil pressure dropped to about 20-25lbs after it warmed up good.

It has never used any oil and still doesn't.

Is 20-25lbs average on a hot motor. Or have I got a problem starting to brew?

Gary

Had our SMTA on the auger the other day, & it was 65 degrees, & the oil pressure was running 25 pounds. This was 10W oil though. So on the picker you will heat things up more than on an elevator type of load. Are you running 30 oil? If you are, I wouldn't worry too much.

I removed the plate on the bottm of the oil pump and sanded it flat as per the posts on this site. My 400 will hold at 50 lbs, even after 2 hours. When you have some down time you may want to try doing that first. Its a simple and cheap fix. Then if you are not comfortable with the amount pressure you have you may want to try another gage. At 20 to 25 lbs, I think you are o.k., but it is you , who needs to be comfortable with it.

Hi Ya Gary,

Old gal is just starting to show a few wrinkles is all.

20 to 25 lbs is about as far as I like to see 'em fall, but you're sure not "in trouble" yet either.

Allan
