How do you adjust clutch on a W-6 so the pedal dosnt go to the stop strip?
Is there supposd to be a shorter throw on the clutch,
so it dosnt go all the way out?
or is it just naturally that way?
Please Help
Kirk C,

If your pedal has to be pushed all the way forward to shift, and iiiffff you have 3/4" free play at the released (foot off)position before it starts getting hard, It may not be adjustible any more. The clutch driven disk, or pressure plate may be comming apart. If it has a bunch of free play, adjust it to 3/4" to one inch at the beginning of the movement. JimN

Hi Janicholson,
How,d you know?
that,s it exactly/
I mean I was wearing my leg out to just shift the thing,
I know that you dont have to push it all the way in ,
and I think the clutch is getting a bit worn after 50, or so yrs LOL,
So I think Ill just replace it, along with the other thing,s , and itll be like new again!
thanks again for the help.
Kirk C,

I've been there often. Good luck with it. I posted a nice splitting stand above under that topic with Mike in CA if you are interested. JimN
