We have an IH 1066 that the 3-point hitch has just started not lowering all the way. It goes about 2/3 of the way down. The lift/lower lever works ok, but the companion heavy/light draft lever is stuck mid-way. Any suggeations on the problem's cause and possible solutions.
Thanks, Coleman

I had one do that a few years back and The Tractor Vet has to cure. The washer trick did fixed it for me, but a year later I had the pto unit out - replacing the torsion tube - and could see that the arm coming up from the bottom was actually about to fall off. It just clamps onto the torsion tube (I think that"s right), anyway, Tractor Vet"s remedy should fix you rat up.

Pull the top link cover plate off and look over on the right side of the housing and up a littel and you will see a arm (lever) comming down from the top and a arm (lever) comming up from the bottom . See if the one from the top is on the back side of the one cooming up from the bottom , if not then pull the draft sencening lever on the control QUAd to the rear and hold it in place with a tarpstrap and with a hook or atleast a pair of gloves pull the top lever back and hook it on the back side of the bottom one .Now i have found on some that with the age and ware and tare that YOU MAY have to take an flat washer and weld it on the far side of the bottom lever so the top can not slide past and come un hooked. Now if that is not the problem then it is in the valve and may require removeal of the whole top off the rear end for feather service.
