I have an MTA with the torque out. A neighbor is parting out a 400 gas. Will that torque fit my tractor? Jerry

I can buy it for a song and I would check it out first. I"ve done quite a few of the bigger later torques (806 and bigger) but have never been into an M. It was rebuilt a year before they forgot to put anti-freeze in it and broke the block and head.

Thanks for the input Jerry

The last thing that i would do is install a used T/A for what a rebuilt one cost and the amount of work involved ya sure don't want the disapointment of all the work to find out that it was no better then the one you just took out.

Yes, it will fit perfectly without any modifications. Hopefully, someone will tell us how to test it on the bench so that you can install it with confidence.

BTW, all the mechanical TA's share many of the same parts. I installed a new old stock 340 TA in a SMTA. I changed out the flange that attaches to rear wall as well as the output shaft. It has been ten years now but I am fairly sure it was that simple.
