There was a discussion the other day on supporting a tractor while disassembling. Here is what I have found to work. It is solid, and cheap.

I never thought of hanging a crankshaft on the pegboard. Good idea.

The crankshaft is out of an M, and is actually resting on the workbench under it. It is tied to the pegboard just to keep it from falling over.

Rusty...I LIIIIKKKKK E it. It puts a natural resource to good use, doubles for chopping kindling, and provides a resting place for your ash when all the pails are occupied. Just one question: Is this the self-propelled model? Well, I suppose it rolls right into place, sort of. David

The wastebasket is really not that great. It is now full of the mouse nest that was in the belly of the tractor.

Rusty: And I thought being the Scotsman in the crowd, I was the tight wad. I take mine to the sawmill and have them sawed square, at least one can use em both ways. For seats and standing on I like those 5 gallon oil pails. they make a good shop seat, yet uncomfortable enough that friends don't stay long enough to hold up your progress.

Our local summer farm show doesn't have a lot of seating. Nice row of shade trees between tractors area and event area. I suggested we all be allowed and encouraged to take along a plastic oil pail for seating under the shade trees. They wouldn't hear of it, said no one would bother to take them home. Seating problem would turn into a garbage problem.

And, if you ever wear it out, you can split it up & burn it - With all the oil that soaks into them over the years, they're like "Matchlite" charcoal, they just smell a little different!

I like myour shop Rusty, I did not know you could hang a crank shaft from a peg board. I am having a logger come in and take all my big old mom ma and Papa ash trees in a month or so would you like me to ups you a few they might me a tad bit bigger though.Unless you know of some way to make some wings on em. LOL. I desided to have my property logged before that little bug gets here thats killing all the ash trees and if many more people dont stop buying the fiberglass handeled tools It will be worthless in a few years anyways. But I have desided to use the funds for a cement floor and insulation in the pole barn. JON
