Out here (California) we are as restricted as it gets I think. For throw aways I take a sharp knife and cut through the side walls about two or three inches from the bead all around the tire on both sides. Cut the tire in four equal pieces and the land fill will take them for no extra charge. If they are small worn tractor tires a sharp linoleum knife works well, if large tires I use a knife to cut the side walls and a sawzall to cut the four equal pieces. If on the rim cut through the bead (wire and all)once (after you have removed the tread portion) to get them off the rim and the land fill takes them that way, no charge. I use a 6" grinder with a stone wheel to cut the bead. If you have a sharp knife it takes almost less time to do the deed than to tell it.
Have fun!!!

I dont know what to tell you to do with them, but here is a good idea if this applies to you. There is a manhole cover sitting about 1 foot from the ground level acrossed our alley. our dad put an old one from the silverking around it to protect us little kids from bumping the rigid corner of the manhole cover. worked very very well and its still there to this day.

You might check around and see if there is anyone turning tires inside out for livestock feeders. We have several guys that do it around here in Colorado.. They get $65.00 for a big rear tire , and $45.00 for a turned front tire off a big tractor.. Tallperson

I had three when we moved a year ago.Local paper doesn't charge for free items to give away.I got rid of one of them, for a sandbox that way,but had to pay a junkyard to take the other two.Pay them I guess, its the right way to go. John.
