I need some ideas on how to get the ball bearing crankshaft out of a Farmall Regular. It would be nice to have that Greb puller and plate they use in the service manual. Also does anyone know where to find a new front bearing retainer. I found out the hard way it won't come off until the crankshaft is out first. Lastly where do you get a cylinder sleeve puller that doesn't cost a ton of money.

I have pushed the crank out from the front by making a puller from a 4x4 and threaded rod. The threaded rod goes into two of the front cover holes and the 4x4 is drilled to fit over the rods. Chose two holes as close to directly opposite the crank centerline as possible. Mine did not line up perfectly, but worked well enough. Once I got everything set up and tightened down, I gave the center of the 4x4 a good rap with a sledge and that started the crank moving. From there, I just kept tightening the nuts on the all-thread until it popped out the back. I pull the flywheel in much the same manner with good results.

wayne, i did the same thing to a retainer. we have some f-20 blocks laying around that would salvage, where are you from? the last one we took out with the flywheel as just the front baring it needed. i was going to see if we could build a puller next time. maybe someone could help further?
