Oh yeah, speaking of the green, what we have pulling the bale processor now is a JD 7600(I know the number 'cause I just spent half the day in it). Not sure on HP but it's probably 180 or so.....kinda overkill in my opinion, but I don't buy 'em, just run 'em. It never even flinches running those bales through, but still... Reason I'm looking is that I'm wanting to move to a neighboring place we bought and get my own feeding equipment to have there...and naturally only Red will do for me. Don't want or need overkill, but don't want more than I need either. And DON'T want something so new I have to pay a JD service truck to drive clear out here every time it needs work. Dad seems to think I HAVE to have a four-wheel-drive, but he seems to forget how we used to feed those 6-ton stacks with an 886 two wheel drive(and the 656 gasser before that...and a 560 before that...and a WD-9 before that, etc etc), back when we used to get REAL snow in the winters. My main reason for shying away from anything older and Red with a 4wd is that from all I've read on here, those old Coleman and Elwood 4wd systems are prone to wear out, especially under a loader carrying two big round bales in the grapple fork, and really pricy to get parts for. Anyway, I have a few more options to look at, and no big hurry, so I'll just keep my eyes open and go from there. Thanks guys!
