Dennis: You could probably go on a buying spree for a month and I'm not sure you will be satisfied you have the best book. It's a difficult topic due to the vastness of subject material and most authors have tended to deal with subjects they were close to over the years. As gene suggests, you'll probably not find 150 Years of IH by CH Wendel, unless it's in an auction. It's been out of print close to 3 years. While Wendel covers 150 years he does not go into much detail and indeed has omitted a few items. He tried to cover all tractors and implements. I think I gave that book Brad mentions to my son 2 years back for Christmas. Haven't seen it since so not certain. I have a neat little book here, which covers tractors only in the time frame you are asking about. Published by Motorbooks International, called International Harvester Tractor buyers's guide, by Robert Pripps. Pripps is quite accurate in my opinion, rates these tractor with up to 5 stars on collectability. He has a section on restoration and rebuilding, lots of photos, at least one on every page. I thought this was a neat little book for around $20. I don't think he missed a tractor between F-20 and 560. There are numerous other good books, two YT regulars Guy Fay and Bermuda Ken both have books highly recomended by a lot of folks. I think the item you must watch for is the author using the approach that suits what your looking for, we all have different tastes.
