130 is up and running again. Since it's unlikely I'll have to mow grass again until may, I robbed the complete distributor and drive from my Super A. I'll order those new parts from CaseIH on Mon., and put them in the SA.

I'll get up to Exeter before Christmas, pick up my new parts and check out the hospitality at 159 Thomas St. Don't worry, about two ounces, about all the old carcass can take. For you folks elsewhere, 159 Thomas St. is not CaseIH.

Glad to here it's running again Hugh.I had to read Al l.'s post twice. The first time through I thought he said we need to exercise the hemorrhids not humanoids. Whew you can imagine my relive.

Paul: Must admit the first glance hit me the same way. While I've never had hemorrhoids, I somehow don't believe they would induce a lot of exercise.

Before I owned my own combine, had an old guy do custom combining for me every fall. One year he was having a bout with hemorrhoids, I don't think I ever saw a man in such pain without wounds or broken bones. I'll tell you he didn't climb those steps up into combine often, when he got there that is where he stayed. He didn't skip down often to check the tailings often. He asked when he started if I could do that. He said, " I made 72 years without anything coming close on pain, if this is it, I'd just as soon die."

Hugh, that"s using your noggin. Glad to hear you"re going again. Don"t imagine the Canadian snow has melted so you can get the 130 out of "underuse" status. They need the exercise, just like us humanoids do. Enjoy.

Al: They sure do, went out since lunch and 130 didn't want to turn over. I fooled with it for a few min., then decided I was getting poor connection at battery cables. I had a couple light duty automotive type cables with bolt on ends I'd put on there last summer to be temporary. I went to work stripped those light cables. Got out the 1 gauge I'd bought, soldered on ends, and made up a complete new set of cables. Ah, those new heavy cables, make it seem like a new battery. She'll turn that engine now at close to speed of 1/3 throttle.

The distributor drive will actually turn out for the better. I'll put those new gears in the Super A, my keeper tractor. This 130 has seen a lot of hard hours in the past 48 years. This is the 3rd time I've been going to part it out, however deep down I know that isn't going to happen. It blows smoke, leaks oil at front seal, fouls up number 2 plug from time to time, yet it will still lug with 140 and Super A. It's got new front tires and rims, new water pump, complete new clutch assembly, I completely refurbished all pins and pin holes in fast hitch and rebuilt the steering box, he!!, I cant quit now.

I've never really wanted to put the snow blade on Super A or 140. I'll bet that 140 has yet to see 500 hours use since new, Super A maybe 1,500 hours. Just nicely broke in. Snow plowing is mean work, not kind to a tractor, especially when you go at it as hard as I do. So I guess 130 remains the beater. I plowed snow too many years with articulated Deere and a Champion 250 road grader, and expect the 130 to push that big pile as well. It doesn't always work, but I'll tell you considering size of 130, the others don't look great.

When the tractor stopped on Fri. I had a good idea what was wrong, thought I'd ask the YT guys just in case I was missing something. But you know these old 4 cylinder gas Farmalls will go, if they are getting gas, have fire, and the fire happens when piston and valves are in the right position. Never seen it fail, they may not start on starter or crank, but you tow start them and in 20' they are usually going. If that doesn't happen, they are not going to start.

Glad to hear it. Been following this discussion but didn't add anything to it because it seemed like all the bases had pretty much been covered. A few ounces of christmas cheer never hurt anyone. Have a good one.

Rusty: Mike's not around today, maybe that was a yesterday only deal. He and his buddies have big cookouts at his camp in the bush. Man I'll tell you they put on some posh feeds, fit for a king. They mix a few spirits as well. Maybe my not showing up, caused too much for the rest.
