I own a 504 with a factory installed fast hitch.

If you have a M-SMTA parts book, you will see a Hobbs (I think) electric hour meter in the Attachments section. It has an IH logo on it. It mounts in a rubber shock absorbing diaphram just below the steering wheel. Most of the originals are history. When the rubber goes, so goes the meter. I suppose some people made new suspensions out of inner tubes.

I found and bought a new old stock meter, in the box, at a nearby dealer who bought out another dealer many years ago. I have been to salvage yards and have seen what time can do to these instruments. Not pretty. I think it is unlikely you will ever see a nice looking meter.

Fast-hitch was offered on the 504's.Some Super M's had an hour meter that was mounted on right side of engine just in front of distributer. Don't know about the SH.

Dad & I installed a distributor drive gear housing between the hyd. pump & distributor on My Stg II Super H back in about 1969, the tach itself is for a 300/350. There was nothing offered from IHC for the Super H but IH made a BIG effort to keep parts brackwards retro-fittable. Dad's M will get the same treatment as soon as I find a Donor 400/450.
