Found a 1956 300 McCormick Farmall trike. Metal is perfect. Runs out good. TA works. No leaks anywhere. Paint is faded but no rust. Has dual remotes. Supposedly was restored a few years ago. Only thing bad are rear tires and rims need replacing. Any ideas on the price I should offer for it? Thanks

I will go along with Rusty on this one. The 300 is a good solid unit and in good running condition with a nice set of tires, 3,000 is not out of the Question. Just look at some of the junk for sale in the picture section of this site and the prices attached. Also the location of a tractor makes a big difference. If this tractor is located in the area of Calif. watch out.

last 300 i had we put a new ta in it rebuilt the head , 15.538 rears on 9 bolt rims after advetizeing it for over a year i gave it away, free to a good home, i had put it on the classifieds on this site , 4 sale or trade , a guy called one nite what will you trade for, i said do you have a good crayon sharpened on both ends, he hung up sa i guess it wasnt worth a crayon, a kid came in here with his dad looking at a 1066, he wanted to drive the 300, after fooling with it for a hour he asked how much i told him get your dad to come back with a trailor and get it its yours, it took 3 weeks for him to come get it

I want about 50 old tractors in my yard, running or not. It would be cool. I would take any tractor in any shape, but no one every gives them away around here =(

It all depends, in the condition you described I've seen sell in the $1400-$2100 range on average - if they have a fast hitch, just don't see to many sell without one. Thats in NE Kansas. If the rims are patchable and the tires hold air people don't seem to deduct as much as they should for that repair.

As long as they aren't spinouts rims seem to pop up cheap when you aren't looking. I bought a pair of rims (with smooth tires) for a M (fits a 300) for $20 just because I thought they were going to low. Still have one as my neighbor needed the other and traded me some work for it. I'd say offer him $1200 and see what he says, don't be surprised if he wants double.

dhermesc, my M and 300 have very different rims. H & M are deep V and 300 has two shallow V's - not interchangeable. what's up with that? Dick Davis

If it had good rims and at least 60% rear tires, I think the value would be close to $3,000. Rear rims are about $150 each, and tires around $300 each, so that puts the value down to around $2,000. A good H will bring around $1,500 at auction, and the 300 is a much better outfit because it already has the fast hitch and live hydraulics.

I sold my 350 this summer. It had goods tires (1 new) and rims. The engine ran ok but not perfect, the low side of he t/a was out and the tranny had some minor issues. It also had a fast hitch, strait sheet metal and older paint. I got 1450 out of it.

Rims and tires are going to cost you quite a bit unless you can run onto a decent used set. I would agree that $1,000 might be a fair price but you never know.

If you got 1450 out of it you should be very happy, did you give the guy a tube of vasoline to go with it, because i sold mine with good paint, good rears, wide front, fast hitch, very straight tin, and good T/A for 1600. You should feel ashamed of your self, you took that guy straight to the cleaners.

I'll be curious what feedback you get. I got my for $1000 in NE KS in similar condition except the tires and rims were fine. If you have to get rims and tires, guess I'd start below $1000 since you'll have a pretty steep cost to replace tires and rims.
