I am wondering if the WD-9 rear end will stand up with duals on...I have new 18-4-34 151 Firestones on it and i would like to dual it with the same. I do not run fluid. I do use the tractor, but more to play with than anything. It would be more for looks than anything.
Hmmmmm, I think i just answered my own question.

Didn't ever know that '9s had troubles with rear ends. Lots of early pullers use them due to the ease of bolting up about any engine/clutch and straight thru in 5th gear.

560's were another story!

The rear ends on the W9s were not over built, at least that is the word from a relative who wrenched in an IH dealership in the 50's. I would think that for no more hard work than you do with it you wouldn't have a problem as long as you aren't kicking op the hp or adding weight. I just happen to have a set of rim clamp duals for 18.4-34 if you would need them.

we had duals on our w-9, the inners were loaded. tractor pulled good. when we got the 706, we put the duals on that tractor. unfortunately, we sold the 706, kept the w-9, now i wish i had duals for my w-9....maybe i'll find a set at a sale
