H rings in today. My neighbor, who knows everything, certainly more than I do, who is deaf as a post and talks all the time, came over and supervised the piston removal, honing and installing the new rings. Done. Then on to paint the head and get it back on....done. Water pump and various linkages installed and hooked up. All that remains to be done is to install the rocker arms and the pan. When I looked at the oil pickup on the water pump, it was one flake of crud from being completely obstructed...from now on, when I get an old unit, I will drop the pan and look as a matter of course before I knock the bearings out. I an anxious to hear this run..but tomorrow. I have had grease in my hair, face, hands arms and yes, i had to go pee and there too. I laid the old oil rings down beside the new ones...the old ones had at least 50% wear. it is a wonder that I did not suck more oil. tw
