I have a year unknown, 504 4 cyclinder gas with a 12 volt conversion that has no spark. there is power going to the coil but nothing coming out. I replaced the coil with no change. The only change that occurred is i installed a new battery. The next time I went to use it there was no spark. Any ideas?

Just guessing ? Does it have electronic ign without points? Maybe you have the battery in backwards.

You need to do as Hugh suggested on using a test lite or a volt meter to check to see if there's voltage at your switch in the on position. Make sure you have voltage going to the switch. This is usually fed voltage off the starter solenoid.
If the engine cranks you must be getting voltage when in the start position. Check for a ballast resistor between the ignition switch and the coil. With the points open you should have voltage on both small terminals on the coil. No voltage present check for a broken wire or a bad connection at the switch or coil. Clean those
points with some 320 wet or dry and make sure they are set at .020" gap. Then try to start the engine. Hal

I doubt if your 504 is a 12 volt conversion, it may be an alternator conversion. By 1962 the first year the 504 was built, all IH tractors except 140 and maybe Cub were 12 volt. Even the 460 and 560 were 12 volt.

Is there power coming to your coil from the switch? Your best solution is use a test light, follow the wiring diagram in your manual to see where power has stopped.
