I've read this was an option on the 100/130 series. How & where does it mount? Where does it attach to the head? Can anyone supply a pic? Thanks.

Brian

It connects to the water outlet just below the top radiator hose on the right side. I don’t remember were the gauge attached to cuzz I installed a automotive gauge and ran it back to were the dash bolts to the transmission. Best I remember the sensing tube wuz short maybe less than 12” and the original gauge mounted sumwere around the governor. I wuz to cheap to buy a original type gauge. Now I did install a thermostat from the dealer and did not like the way it fit into the housening. My coolant temp runs to low and I know its cuzz the thermostat has moved and lets water flow by it. One of those thangs I need to werk on like lube’in the distributor, one day I will git around to it.

The new thermostats require a spacer that fits between the thermostat and the retaining clip. Sounds like you might not have the spacer which would allow the thermostat to float up and down about 1/2" and allow some water to pass.

Hope this helps

Jack

Well I hate to admit it but I knew sum’in wuz not rite wif the replacement, should of asked y’all guys well
O-well, kin this spacer be got from the dealer or do I make one. I don"t remember 1/2" of space but only that the snap ring did not seam like it would retain the thermo. Soon as I kin make room I need to go to werk on the brakes enny ways, best I remember the brake rod adjusters have been welded up so after a few years of use I have Flintstone brakes rite now. I will either need new/used rods are repair the ones I have. I did replace the bands quite a long time ago but use the tractor very little. The timing gears striped from a hydraulic pump the went bad or got low in fluid and the shaft broke so it set up for 5 years or so till I got around to rebuilding the engine. I have picked up a 140 so could git back to werk on the 100 and git me sum good brakes.

The water temp gauge was attached to the governor assembly on the right side of the tractor by way of a bracket (now available from OEM tractor parts for $10) and the sensor cable was fed into the top of the water pump and hose that feeds into the radiator, much as what Hobo described. The only gauges located at the dash is the ammeter and the optional hydra touch temp gauge mounted on the forward part of the touch control levers.
