Farmall M shutting down.

My M begins sputtering and shuts down after
running for about 30 minutes. If I pull the
choke it will run with the choke out for about
5 to 10 minutes, but then it shuts down for good.
After it shuts down if I pull the carb plug, I
get very little fuel. When I disconnect the line
at the carb, I get good fuel flow. If I let it sit, say for 30 minutes, it starts up and runs
for about 10 minutes or so and starts acting up again. Is it vapor locking or is there a needle valve and seat problem? Any ideas would help.

Check for a clogged vent on your fuel tank cap.

Look in the fuel tank with a bright flashlight to see if there is a piece[es] of foreign material in the bottom of the tank which may be intermittently plugging the outlet. The neighbor had a problem similar to yours on his JD 95 combine. Turned out to be a wasp that was getting sucked into the tank outlet at random times. Probably the wasp was in the fuel nozzle & got flushed in with the fuel when filling.

Since you have good fuel flow from the tank, you can pretty much eliminate vapor lock as I understand vapor lock: It happens in the tank, when the tank can't get air.

I would start at the carburetor. If you haven't given it a good cleaning and a rebuild lately, do it. If you have, take it apart, clean it again, and triple-check your adjustments.

New rubber-tip needles need to be "set" in their seat so they don't stick. You put the needle in the seat and give it a couple of taps with a hammer. Now the needle will be stuck, so use a small flat screwdriver to wiggle it free.

Could be the needle and seat are sticking. Could be the float is sticking or hanging on the sides of the fuel bowl. Could be as simple as needing to clean the screen in the fuel inlet fitting-that brass fitting that the gas line screws into.
