Looking to do a tune up on my recently aquired Super C and I'm wondering what different carburators did they come with? It doesn't really look much like the one on my '53 Super A which has a Zenith. Any give aways to what it might be? I had the plugs out yesterday and it has step head pistons. They are not unlike the ones shown in the '54 Super H Update' post on the next page. Any ideas on the manufacturer? After I get it tuned up I'm hoping to take it into college and put it on the dyno and see what she'll do. Could you see straight through the original IH mufflers or did they go straight through? Many thanks, tractorsam

I went to shop this morning got my good book. CNKS is right Marvel Schebler was sold as a replacement carb, but did come on some other models. Good Luck with yours.

Carter or Zenith were the only brands used on the SC. Berry450d is the only person I know of who prefers Carter -- can't speak from experience because I have had only Zenith. Pistons could be any of several manufacturers. IH mufflers were straight through as are all replacements.

When I bought my Super C in 1996 it had a carter carb on it. I overhauled engine, and put on a new 160 dollar Marvel Schebler carb, and it constantly gave me trouble,so I overhauled Carter and put it back on. It is still going and have no trouble with it. By the way my book shows Carter carb For Super C No UT771SA,733S or SA. It also shows Carter carbs for C UT733S or SA.

Some had Carter carb`s on them wich I prefer, some had marvel schebler carb`s on them. The pistons could IH fire crater domes wich are in my Super C. I dont know if m&w made these type pistons for a Super C or not, but someone here will. I can see through the 2 IH mufflers I have.
