I"m thinking about adding a hydraulic clutch to my old 1466. Even though it"s not to bad for field work, my left knee is just not what it used to be. The tractor was born without a TA or hydraulic clutch.

I did an archive search and I saw a few posts where people mentioned where they have done this, but they don"t mention any particulars. I"d appreciate any experience you guys might have. The tractor is a 1971 1466 and it was made without a TA.

OOOOO HHH, I hadn"t really started thinking about how much one would cost, I was more concerned with my MCV supplying pressure at the right place for the clutch since it did not have a TA. I didn"t know if the the valve body was different.

I"ll begin the search and see if I can turn one up! Thanks for the input, I"ll keep you posted.

Yup, a bolt-on deal. That's why nobody's said anything about the particulars.

The difficult part is finding the unit, then not choking on your tongue when you see how much a good used one costs!

Paul,

It is more or less a bolt on deal.

If the tractor is an open station, you might have to change out that left battery tray as they are different in their mounting on the slave-equipped tractors.

I AM SURPRISED THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE ONE. CALL A GOOD SALVAGE AND TELL THEM WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. THE MCV SHOULD HANDLE IT. A PRESURE LINE GOES FROM THE BOTTEM OF THE MCV TO THE UNIT. THEN A RETURN LINE GOES BACK TO THE ALL--WHEEL DRIVE COVER.
