Hi All , Does anyone have the bearing numbers for the bearings that are different from the stock bearings in a M's M&W 9-speed and which ones are the different ones from stock ? Anything you could could add about seals or anything else would be nice also . I'm going to have to have someone else do the job since I can't get into the shop at work due to the cranes we are rebuilding this winter . I really wish I could afford at least a garage :( but it's not my destiny . At least this guy works fast and has many , many years of experience . He say's he can do it in four or five hours if the parts are at hand and the bolts don't break . But that doesn't include a thorough cleaning I'm sure . He did say to be prepared to replace the axle bearings so I looked at the price of those bearings and got lock jaw ! If they are bad they are going to stay bad till next year or later unless I can find a donor tractor for some good used bearings which I know is probably not a very bright idea but at $160 dollars a piece ( not through IH ) I'll take my chances for a year or so . So can anyone help with the bearing numbers ? Thanks ! ...Randy

I checked the M&W parts listing last night. NO bearings listed.

Think I still owe you the manual. Had a couple of surgeries this past couple of weeks, and it has slowed me down. Will try and get the instructions in the mail this weekend.

Bearings and seals are all IH. If you have lever shift M&W, there's a seal that shift shaft goes through that's not standard IH. You can match it up at a seal and bearing supplier.

Hi , Are they the same part numbers as in the M parts book or just some random IH parts made to work . The reason I ask is that I want to get everything bought before we start and I don't want to have to order bearings after we take it apart so I want to be sure . I talked to the parts guy and he didn't know if they were the same . Sorry to be redundant but I just want to be as prepared as possible . Thanks ! ...Randy

Bearings were not part of M M&W 9 speed kit. Original IH bearings or there likness were reinstalled. On later M there was a change of size of input shaft bearing and a few upgrades by IH on main shaft pilot bearing.

Thanks for the info . The dealer has all the bearings for a stock rebuild on the shelf . I don't have a late model ( '47 ) so I guess it'll work . Take care ! ...Randy
