Need a little help locating a part. I am needing to find a drain plug for the bottom of the oil pan. On the drain plug, it needs to have a peice on it that spins open to drain the water condensation out. Thanks for the help.

It is usually just "creamy" colored

How often do you need to do this? What are its operating conditions? Where do you live (area)? What oil are you using? We are just trying to get a handle on something people do not encounter very much unless there is an issue with the cooling system leaking into the engine. JimN

Also make sure the crankcase vent system is clean and not pluged. if it is pluged the condensation cannot get out !!

Take your existing drain plug to a machine shop and have them drill and tap it to 1/8"npt threads. 10$ or so. (or get a same thread reducer at a good hardware store with 1/8"npt small size) then buy a petcock with a 1/8" npt male thread to fit. No problem. If you need to drain the crankcase all the time you will be spending more in a few months to fix the entire engine due to the fact that antiferrze (and pure water) coolant will destroy bearings in several ways. Good luck, (I would try stop leak first, then just fix it. JimN

I don't quite understand. Where is the antifreeze statement coming from? I am talking about the oil pan which houses the crankcase oil. When tractor runs for short periods, condensation can tend to build up (very little, but still has some) & needs to be drained. Or are you saying to just leave the water in there & dont worry about it?

CNKS is correct. Very few engines ever need the water drained out of their crankcase unless it is getting in there from internal coolant leaks. These leaks need to be repaired pronto. If the engine is run for extremely short periods (3 to 5 min) then shut off to cold in humid conditions, I can imagine condensation being in the crankcase, but it will evaporate when the tractor is used for 20 minutes. Check the nature of your "water" bu putting some on a clean piece of printer paper and putting some coolant next to it from the radiator. If they match, it needs fixed, if they don't it needs driven. If it is indeed just condensation, run your tractor to get rid of it. Or change your oil more often. If you are getting a lot of water, you have a problem, and what you are doing will do no good. If you have antifreeze and the first thing to come out is the color of the antifreeze, you definitely have a problem, that may be as simple as a head gasket, or worse, a cracked head or block.
