I am working on a Farmall 460 is there a special sleeve puller that needs to be used or do I have to remove the crank first?

Chester, Is that your real name? If so, do you know the Welte clan from Bigfork Mn?

Chester, depends on if you are going to reuse the sleeves or install new ones. If you are replacing sleeve, just run a couple of beads full length of the sleeve with welder. When weld cools down sleeves will almost fall out. If you are doing this with crankshaft still in block BESURE to cover crankshaft with wet rag, to keep slag off the jounerals.

This is the one I built couple years ago..

I would pull that crankshaft and have it measured
at your local auto machine shop. I agree with CNKS on having the block cleaned and have them remove and install new sleeves. Good time for new cam bearings too. Hal

there are sleeve pullers that dont require u to remove the crank. They do it from the top as the name indicates... Do a search on the forum for sleeve puller, I'm sure you'll find something. You can even make one if youy so desire...

Someone else can dispute this because I have never done it, but I had a machine shop remove the sleeves, hot tank the block and install the new sleeves. He said he had problems getting the old ones out and had to "peel them out". He does that type thing of a living.
