706D wiring for lights

My lights havent' worked for 3 or 4 years. The rear flasher was broken so I purchased an aftermarket yellow unit at the farm and home. It has two wires, the original had one. I also purchased a new light switch from IH and a new fuse holder. I think I can just use the old switch as a guide and probably figure it out. Is there a wiring diagram I can find on the web?
Our original manual burned along with our shop in 1977 so been winging it since then.

Wired many of I H's and the vary first thing ya do is SCRAP the fuse and install a 20 amp self resetting breaker , now if ya are going to be adding more the the stock 5 lite set up then ya want to up grade to two 20 amp breakes and one 30 amp CV relay run the two head lites and the rear red off the switch along with dash lites then thru the second breaker and CV relay run the extra field lites this set up will not eat the main switch and NEVER pop a fuse in the middel of the night when your way out back with out a flash lite tryen to find that pack of fuses that ya know are in the tool box someplace BTDT that is why when i do one i do it the way i have said and you will never go with out lites . The power for the CV relay comes off the mainbattery post on the starter thru the breaker to the relay and a jumper wire off the field lite side to the relay to energise it less draw on the lite switch and you also have brighter lites .

Hi Gene,

It's easier than you think as most all IH tractors are pretty much wired the same for lights.

Wire the switch just like the old one was wired; do it one terminal at a time and you'll be just fine. The only thing you might want to check in this area is the dash lights as they feed from the switch, to the junction block, then out to the individual lights.

Now, that original flasher has lost a leg; that's probably why it doesn't work.

Find the wire that is hot when the rear red road lite is on. The hazzard circuit splits off from this hot feed just behind and above the left brake, from there into the flasher, then out of the flasher and out to the hazzard lights.

This puts the hazzards working all the time except when the field lights are on.

I like the tractor vets idea of the breakers, but I already had the fuse holder and new switch bought from IH. I dug into it last night. Some of the terminals on the old switch were so corroded that they just broke off. I cleaned each wire with a small brass brush, WD-40 and a pocket knife. I replaced the fuse holder, it was not letting current out and when I tried it everything worked!! First time in years. I did not have the flasher so I still have that to finish, ordererd it from IH and they will have it thursday.
