A few questions guys. I need to know if the flywheel teeth are supposed to be chamfered, or is it just worn that bad? Can the ring gear be filed and flipped around, or do I have to buy a new one. Also I need to know where I would get a new clutch and what parts are needed. The tractor is a 300U serial 7090 PJ The starter wont engage, however, if i try the starter outside of the tractor, the gear goes all the way up. I cleaned and relubed it with lightweight oil. Do these starters ever need shimmed, I'm thinking no? If I have to split it to fix the ring gear, I'm doing the clutch too.I'd like to know what all I'd need to replace in the clutch, I know the plate is going bad. The pads are nearly worn to the plate If I'm splitting the tractor for the ring gear, then I'm doing the clutch and the rear engine seal. So Any help in finding the following parts would be appreciated... Engine, rear main seal.. pressure plate throw out bearing fingers? or the kit or whatever... Flywheel ring gear... input shaft seal (or whatever seal is opposite If someone could scan from their service books the starter and/or clutch pages, I would be in debt to you. I really think tractors this old outta have service books online like online libraries that have chiltons and stuff. Oh well, I guess people are out to make a buck. I'm trying to minimize cost and still do it right. I can see so far its ging to be a PITA to split this thing. Lets just hope I dont break ANY bolts off or it's not gonna make for a happy few weeks. I knew, I'd be back, just a matter of time. Thanks for any help guys!!
