In my humble opinion, "9"s didn"t need power stering, unless under a loader.

I find this very interesting since I have a power steering unit on my 1949 WD9, an I know of one other located in Eastern Washington State. Mine is not working but am rebuilding an replacing all the parts, the one north of my is working but I have yet to see it or get any pictures as of yet

If you the read the parts book for a WD9 there was power steering system available for them with or withut the live hydraulic system. I have never seen one. There was never a live pto on the 9 series.

my w-9 has an aftermarket char lynn power steering setup on it. it uses a cylinder on the steering arm on the left side of the tractor for the assist.

None of those models had powersteering. The answer (opinion)is to adapt a hydrostatic system from a combine steering system to the unit. Add a belt driven Pump and diverter valve to allow live hydraulics and make it yourself. JimN

He could also find a junked 650 w/PS and install that system. Better yet, just fix the 650 and sell the W-9.
