No Oil on Top

I just finished a rebuild on my Farmall H engine.
She runs fine, but I do not have oil on the top side to the rocker arm assembly. I installed a new pressure guage during the process and it appears to be working fine with good pressure. The engine was removed in the rebuild and I thought I did a good job in cleaning. This is not my first rebuild, but it is the first time I have had this problem. Any ideas? I appreciate your thoughts.

My manual says the rocker assy is pressure lubricated from the center cam bearing via an oil sleeve which is mounted on the valve lever shaft.
When installing the valve levers and shaft assy, the tube on the oiler sleeve must enter the reamed hole in the cylinder head. Hal

You may not have to take the head off to check for oil hole. the rocker assembly will have to come back off . Remove the plugs and spin it. Look where the oil is coming out or locate the hole its supposed to . If it isnt coming out you can stick a rod or something small down the hole to know the gasket isnt blocking it. I would suspect a problem in the rocker assembly that isnt lined up oil hole tooil hole.

Two thoughts, did head gasket have a hole and did it get lined up for oil passage? Did you change or move cam bearings or cam.

The head gasket certainly lined up and I can only assume it had the proper holes. Not expecting this problem, I do not recall checking to see if it was mal designed and would block oil flow when I installed it. Certainly that is something I can look into. The cam was not removed and cam/valves are functioning normally so I would not think that is the problem.

Full oil pressure doesn't get to rockers, so if everything is drained and weather is cold it may take a bit for oil to make it up.I assume the rocker arm shaft wasn't disasembled. If cam was not removed a oil passage got blocked by something or at the head gasket. You may be able to check that as another poster said.To get to rockers oil passes through center cam bearing and journal, there's a slot in cam journal and this limits a steady stream of full oil pressure output to top.

Thanks to all you guys who offered suggestions on No Oil to Top. The first thing I plan to do is remove the rocker assembly and use Steelfronts oil flow check procedure. I hope this clears up the mystery. If it does not, I can think of other possibilities. Unfortunately, they are all bad! Pray for me! Even so, all of this is going to have to wait until the weather warms a bit. Thanks again.

is there oil on ANY of the rocker arms? What are you considering good oil pressure? I'm not sur how oil is transferred up there in these old engines, if its by hollow pushrods, did u make sure they were clean? If you have oil coming from some, but not others, this might be why. I did a reclean as I'll call if of my auto engine and had the problem before I took it apart. Sure enough 4 of the pushrods were clogged with crap, now I get oil on all rockers now. I'm not going to be of much help here, but the guys might wanna know questions like these and it might help to diagnose the problem and save a little time as well.

I see no evidence of oil flowing to any of the rocker arms, or anywhere else on the top end. Oil pressure is over 40 and picks up normally as you start the engine. Push rods are solid on an H engine. I have not disassembled anything yet. Thought I would wait for a few reactions before I start the problem search. Anyway, weather conditions are pretty discouraging at present to work on her in my shed/shop.
